I dropped out in the eighth grade… I felt like my life was over. Then, I got sent to Crosswinds, which changed my life completely.

I used to be the kind of girl who did not care about anything. I first started hanging out with the wrong crowd. Then I started skipping classes and not doing my work; making bad grades was something I never thought I would fix. Finally I just quit going to school. I dropped out in the eighth grade … I felt like my life was over.

I got sent to a part of Crosswinds which changed my life completely. It has helped me to feel better about myself and believe in myself that I can do anything I put my mind to. I am also making good grades for the first time ever.

My parents say I am a whole new person now, and we all get along. I have a goal of going into the Coast Guard. I would then like to go to college and learn how to be a nurse. It is nice to know there are people that care about us and are willing to help us out. It means so much to each and every one of us. Some of us at Crosswinds have nothing and have never felt loved. Thank you again for caring. Knowing that you care makes us feel good about ourselves.
