Project Safe Place

Immediate help for children and teens

Crosswinds operates Project Safe Place in Brevard County, which is part of a national program offering immediate help to children and teens who have run away, are homeless, on the streets, in an unsafe situation, or just alone or afraid.

To get immediate help, young people can enter one of over 100 community centers and businesses that are designated Safe Place sites.  All designated sites display the familiar yellow and black Safe Place sign.

Young people need only tell an employee at the site that they need help, and the employee will contact Crosswinds immediately.

Project Safe Place is also a school education program, offering information on the dangers of running away, substance abuse, available services, and other issues to middle and high school students.
