Independent Living Services

Independent Living Services
Crosswind Youth Services’ goal is to improve the success of foster youth transitioning into adulthood. Through a contract from Community Based Care of Brevard, the Crosswinds Independent Living Program supports foster youth leaving the state's dependency system to prepare these young adults for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Through the Independent Living Program, Crosswinds works with these young adults to help them achieve success. The program’s goal is to teach self-sufficiency through employment, education and good decision-making. Crosswinds helps youth define and reach their school, career or vocational goals; develop interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities; and, in the cases of teens who are expecting or parenting young children, provide training in positive parenting skills, nutrition and child development.
