Accreditation

CROSSWINDS YOUTH SERVICES, INC.
BECOMES ACCREDITED

In May 2007 Crosswinds Youth Services, Inc. joined the Council on Accreditation’s (COA’s) Community of Excellence that includes more than 1,000 private and public organizations serving over 6,000,000 children, individuals, and families in the United States and Canada.
COA accreditation attests that an organization meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best quality services to the community it serves. COA is an international, independent, non-profit accrediting body of social and behavioral healthcare services. COA’s mission “promotes best-practice standards: champions quality services for children, youth and families; and advocates for the value of accreditation.” The COA accreditation process involves an in-depth examination of the organization’s compliance with best practice standards.
Crosswinds services accredited by COA include Shelter, Counseling, Case Management, Day Treatment, and Supported Community Living services.
“We have been working towards this accreditation for a long time with the aim of transforming our service delivery, improving our internal processes and procedures and strengthening our organizational capacity.  It was a truly tremendous team effort involving staff, board members, youth, parents and the community.  This is, indeed, a significant milestone in the history of the organization,” stated President of Crosswinds Jan Lokay.
For 33 years, Crosswinds Youth Services has been committed to helping young people who have experienced great challenges. Crosswinds programs strength families, reduce barriers to success, and provide young people with support, safety, and opportunity. Crosswinds’ mission is to create opportunities for young people to succeed through a wide range of services and programs. For more information, call 452-0800.
