Sixteen years ago Robert and Bunny Lehton experienced one of the darkest days any parent could ever imagine. One night, upon returning to her home in Cocoa Beach, Florida, their beloved 21-year old daughter Amy was lost to a senseless act of unspeakable violence.
It is the Lehtons' wish that the memory that endures of Amy should not be a sad one, but rather one of a beautiful young lady and the beautiful spirit of love that touched so many people during such a short life.
In their daughter’s memory, the Lehtons have formed Amy’s Fund to provide help to young people receiving services at Crosswinds.
At the time of her death, Amy was a very happy young lady who dreamed of going to college to study music and film. Even though her life ended before she realized her dreams, Amy’s Fund will help her dreams be fulfilled with each child who is helped at Crosswinds. Crosswinds’ mission is to create opportunities for young people to succeed – at school, at home, and in their communities. Amy’s Fund is intended to be a permanent endowment that will directly help Brevard’s youth succeed for all generations to come.
